Janneau

Armagnac is revered as the oldest spirit in France, having celebrated its 700-year history in 2010. Maison Janneau continues that legacy, known as one of the oldest Armagnac producers, still distilling, aging and bottling entirely in the Armagnac region.

To create its brandies, Maison Janneau uses traditional winemaking methods, utilizing Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Baco grape varieties to make the natural white wine that is then fermented and double distilled –an original distillation method Janneau reintroduced to the Armagnac region in 1972. Following the double distillation, the brandy is then aged in 450-liter oak casks in Janneau’s dark, ancient cellars, with 65 percent of Janneau’s brandies aging for more than 12 years.
