Fáilte go dtí Connemara - an Irish tradition.
Connemara whiskeys are unique Peated Single Malt Irish whiskeys that revive the ancient tradition of drying the malt over a
peat fire.
Connemara Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey
Named after one of the most famous regions in Ireland, Connemara is one of nature's
masterpieces. The rugged Atlantic coastline and majestic mountains blend with the rain-soaked peated bog lands to create a
landscape of unique natural beauty.
Connemara Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey captures the beauty of this region while
reviving its traditions. This rare and original find among Irish whiskeys is a single malt, beautifully gilded in peat reek.
Managing Director of Cooley Distillery, David Hynes and Chairman John Teeling resurrected the traditional Irish custom of
drying the malted barley over peat fires with this peated single malt. The smoke rising through the malted barley during this
drying process confers the whiskey with a distinct peaty flavor and aroma. These traditional distilling methods combined with
natural ingredients and long years in oak casks continue to create a whiskey that is simply exceptional!
Connemara 12 year Old Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey
The newly released Connemara 12 Year Old is already causing a stir among whiskey
connoisseurs worldwide after scooping a Gold Medal at the World Spirit Competition in San Francisco in March 2004. Reflecting
the region of Connemara, this magnificent 12 Year Old revives the age-old tradition and heritage of drying malted barley over
peat fires. To the smooth, balanced malt and peat flavors of Connemara Peated Single Malt is added the lingering wood
aftertaste to produce a whiskey of great complexity and sophistication. Truly, Connemara 12 year old has been worth the
wait.
John Teeling, Chairman of Cooley Distillery said “Our blenders and quality
consultants have made us release the Connemara 12 year old. They believe that it is one of the best whiskeys in the
world - bar none. It represents the pinnacle, to date, of Cooley distillation and maturing skills. The soft waters of
the Cooley Hills, the warm caress of the copper pot stills, the breathing oak barrels from Kentucky, the ancient granite
warehouses of Kilbeggan and 12 years in a perfect whiskey climate have combined to deliver this gem. We have very limited
quantities, so savor while you can."
Connemara Cask Strength Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey
Unique to the world of Irish whiskeys Connemara Cask Strength is the only Irish
whiskey to be produced from its natural strength. Surprisingly smooth at 60% alcohol by volume, the cask strength captures
the essence of Connemara.
Natural and undiluted, not chill-filtered or colored in any way, Connemara
Cask Strength reflects the rugged nature of the famous region in the West of Ireland. As extraordinary as the landscape,
this whiskey is exceptional. Because it is so natural and undiluted, the level of alcohol differs between bottlings, and
so labels are printed specially for each batch.
The pure clear spring water from the Cooley Mountains united with the peated
malted barley give the Connemara Cask Strength a rare flavor. Slowly maturing for long years in oak casks, the natural
ingredients and traditional distilling methods employed by Cooley Distillery create a whiskey, which is simply
spectacular.
